The Melbourne Tattoo Expo
A few weeks Shoe Me had a booth at the Melbourne Tattoo Expo, and I attended to cover all of the sights and fun of this vibrant event.
With media pass in hand and a photographer by my side we arrive to one of Australia's most electrified expos! Being a tattoo fiend, I've never attend
ed an inked themed festival, or expo believe which is completing enough to begin with but now I have to say I'm in love with the vibe, buzz and seeing every aspect of a culture I love up close and personal.
Featuring a huge selection of local and international tattooists, you can walk around the venue exploring the intricate work of some of the worlds most amazing artists. While I did not get the chance to get inked myself, I absolutely adored being able to see so many skilled tattooists creating magic in front of my eyes.
The options of both bookings and walk in's available you can simple choose the artist who appeals to you the most and set up a time over the weekend or right then and there to get inked!
Walking around the event I discovered many new artists I've not seen of heard of before and I must admit I feel hard for their amazingly intricate and stunning pieces. This event gave me so much inspiration for future tattoos and next time around I'll definitely be taking the time out to get tattooed.
While waiting to get work done you can also shop to your hearts content! With stalls from local designers such as Hutch Melbourne (I may have gone a little crazy there.) clothing brands, accessory companies and our own booth featuring all the brands you know and love you, you can purchase some great products from Australian based companies and support your local businesses.
Right next to our booth was a stunning collection of Taxidermy Art and it was hard to leave without buying every single frame. Our stand out favourite piece had to be The Beatles.
Our stand was amazing and sold out by the end of the festival! Everyone snapped up some amazing deals and our selection of Pinup Couture and Demonia's were hot ticket items. With insane prices we had so many happy feet over the 3-day event.
The Tattoo Expo from a newbie perspective was really exciting, and it just fueled my love for tattoos and pushes the need to get more work done. I can't wait to attend more in the future and even more events where the Shoe Me Crew are!
